As expected, the Cayenne GTS will follow the same formula as the newly released 2013 Panamera GTS. That means it’ll get a tweaked version of the 4.8-liter, naturally-aspirated V-8 engine from the Cayenne S and output will be rated at 430 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque (400 hp and 369 lb-ft in the Cayenne S). The engine will be mated to a seven-speed, dual-clutch auto sending power to all four wheels. Suspension, tire, exhaust, and body kit upgrades should round off the GTS treatment. Pricing hasn’t been released, but expect it to ring in lower than the $108,075 price tag commanded by the turbo model. There’s no doubt that 2013 Cayenne GTS will be more than its predecessor, which was powered by a 405-hp, 4.8-liter V-8, but we’re not sure that it will be more special. One of the most unique qualities of the first-gen Cayenne GTS was the available six-speed manual. We may be fans of dual-clutch transmissions, but we have to admit we’ll miss the weirdness of having a third pedal in a nearly three-ton luxury SUV.
