The 2013 Dart’s instrument cluster has a large tachometer on the left and a fuel gauge on the right. In between the two is a seven-inch LCD screen that can be customized to show different types of data; in Dodge’s teaser photo, the screen shows the vehicle’s current speed, navigation direction, and the current song playing on the driver’s iPod. The Dart’s glove box, incidentally, is said to be large enough to store an Apple iPad.

The dashboard is composed of organic, sweeping shapes that wrap around the Uconnect screen and instrument cluster, cues reminiscent of the Dodge Charger’s layout. Dodge says it will offer a wide range of customization for the Dart, offering a choice of 12 exterior colors, 14 interior trim options, and six different wheels. In addition to that, in-house parts division Mopar will offer a variety of option packages for the Dart.

The 2013 Dodge Dart will make its official debut at the Detroit auto show in January. The new sedan is based on Alfa Romeo’s Giulietta hatchback, and will replace the aging Caliber as Dodge’s smallest (and likely cheapest) car. The Dart will be offered with 2.0 and 2.4-liter inline-four “Tigershark” engines, as well as a turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir engine, with a choice of three different transmissions – one of which is expected to help the Dart return an EPA rating of 40 mpg on the highway.
