Moto Guzzi Turns 90... and V12

For its 90th anniversary, Moto Guzzi has already announced that it will be building both a new liquid-cooled engine and a brand new factory.

Yet not content with a mere factory and an engine, a Moto Guzzi official "leaked" news that Guzzi will be introducing a new model range later this year.  Building on its vintage heritage, Moto Guzzi will be taking the V7 classic and installing the Griso's new 1,151cc eight-valve motor.

For those of you who like your ponies, that will double the V7's power with 110bhp and 75lb/ft of torque.  Woo hoo!!!

Think: This classic moto, but double the power.

But don't expect the fun to begin and end with the new V12.  As part of Piaggio's strategy to return the storied Moto Guzzi brand back to prominence, there will be a new Guzzi model every year for the foreseeable future.

Next year, the new model will be the Moto Guzzi California, with a 1400cc engine ( Moto Guzzi Looks to 2012 ).  The motorcycle will enter production late 2012.

Cheers!
